The conference aims at unpacking the construction/society nexus and discussing the mutual constitution and transformation of practices of production and consumption of the built environment.
The production and consumption of construction goods and services are embedded in a network of institutionalised structures and practices, which is increasingly being shaped by the proliferation of new and emerging societal needs and trends. Different concepts and methods such as performance management, user-driven innovation, supply-chain integration and Building Information Modelling have been introduced to develop the sector and address the challenges that arise from these new perspectives. However, what are the consequences for the existing modes of procurement, management, regulation and governance in and of construction, and how are traditional practices, roles and responsibilities transformed as a result?

Registration and Payment Information |

You can register your participation at the 6th Nordic Conference on Construction Economics and Organisation by following the Registration link in the top menu bar. Here you will also be able to pay for your conference participation through a PayPal Plugin that enables users, whether or not they are PayPal members, to use all major credit cards, as well as eChecks, when paying through the system. Only users with an account at the conference website are able to register. If you have colleagues or co-authors on a paper that wish to attend the conference, please have them set up an account as well. Editorial decision on full papers should be sent to all authors within one week. Due to the slight delay in the review process, we will extend the final paper submission to 28 February 2011. Theory in use - PhD candidate pre-conference seminar The seminar is carried out in collaboration with the 6th Nordic conference on Construction Management and Economics. The purpose of the seminar is to reflect on our choices of theories and theoretical framework in qualitative research: what possibilities and constraints do these choices entail; how are the theories applied in the analysis, and later invoked in the discussion; how may theories be expanded; how may a theory influence the choice of method? We are currently in the process of obtaining abstract reviews from our scientific commitee. We apologise that the previously announced deadline (October 1, 2010) have not been met, and will do our best to have the reviews completed soon. The announced deadline for submission of first draft of full paper will maintained (15 November 2010). |
